During the height of the recent global health scare, in-person events evaporated, but enterprising folks recreated many of these events temporarily as online/virtual experiences. At the time, I think most folks felt that, while it would not be the same, it was better than nothing. One of those cancelled events, the 2020 Glenside Color Computer Club (GCCC) “Last” Chicago CoCoFEST! morphed into an unofficial virtual event, put on by CoCoTALK! (now known as The CoCo Nation, or TCN). The virtual event was well attended and received, and many people remarked that the virtual nature of the event allowed different types of projects and exhibits to be shown and discussed.
Thankfully, things have returned to normal and in-person events are back on the schedule. But, what about those who struggle to attend in-person events? What about projects that are either too large or bulky or not mobile enough to pack up for a show? What about enthusiasts that would love to travel to an event, but there’s nothing close enough and travel is cost prohibitive?
That’s where the TANDY RETRO Show comes in. For those with an interest in the Tandy/Radio Shack line of computing systems, the TANDY RETRO Show offers the ability to share progress or rarity without leaving the comfort of your own home.
